A TNT terá por mais um ano a exclusividade na transmissão da 77ª edição do Golden Globe Awards®, uma das premiações mais prestigiadas da indústria cinematográfica, sob o comando de Ricky Gervais. Diretamente de Beverly Hills, a exibição ao vivo acontece no dia 05 de janeiro, a partir das 21h* com apresentação de Dane Taranha e comentários de Michel Arouca.
A tradução simultânea fica por conta de Regina McCarthy e Robert Greathouse.
O Globo de Ouro 2020 vai premiar um total de 25 categorias, sendo 14 delas de cinema e 11 de TV. Em cinema, o campeão, com seis indicações, foi "História de um casamento", protagonizado por Scarlett Johansson e Adam Driver, ambos também nomeados como melhor atriz e ator em filme de drama. O segundo filme mais lembrado foi "Era uma Vez em... Hollywood", empatado com "O irlandês", com cinco indicações.
"Coringa" ficou com quatro indicações, incluindo melhor ator de drama, para Joaquin Phoenix, e Diretor, para Todd Phillips. "Dois papas", dirigido pelo brasileiro Fernando Meirelles, também tem quatro nomeações.
Entre as produções da TV, "The Crown", "Chernobyl" e "Inacreditável" lideram com quatro indicações cada.
Ellen DeGeneres e Tom Hanks receberão as homenagens da noite com os prêmios Carol Burnett e Cecil B. Demille, respectivamente.
